The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved the disbursement of approximately $25.1 million to Armenia following the completion of the first review under the country's 2025 Stand-By Arrangement (SBA), the Fund said in an official statement.
According to the IMF, cited by Report, the Executive Board granted Armenia additional access equivalent to 18.4 million Special Drawing Rights (SDR), or around $25.1 million.
The SBA program aims to support the Armenian government's reform agenda, focused on maintaining macroeconomic and financial stability and promoting sustainable, inclusive, and balanced economic growth.
The total financial package under the arrangement amounts to approximately $50.2 million. The IMF noted that the program is precautionary in nature, meaning the Armenian authorities intend to treat it as a financial safety buffer and do not plan to draw on the funds unless necessary.
