IAEA to send mission to Chernobyl after withdrawal of Russian troops

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will send a special mission to Chernobyl. This became possible after the Russian military left the territory of the nuclear power plant and the exclusion zone, Report informs, citing Euronews.

It is specified that the IAEA specialists will check the objects of radioactive waste in Chernobyl.

Later, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi announced that he would personally head the special mission in Chernobyl. According to him, this will be the first such mission on nuclear security in Ukraine.
