IAEA announces Iran’s agreement with monitoring, verification of its nuclear facilities

Tehran agrees with the transition of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to further monitoring and verification measures at Iranian nuclear facilities, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said on March 6 before the meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors, Report informs referring to TASS.

“Following my discussions with [Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) chief Mohammad] Eslami in Tehran on March 4, I note Iran’s agreement to allow the agency to proceed with further monitoring and verification measures necessary for the IAEA to fulfill its mission,” Grossi said.

Achieving this would be very important as it would enable the IAEA to begin establishing the new baselines needed in the event that Iran resumes its nuclear commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, he added.
