Relations between Ankara and the EU should not become hostage to the interests of certain countries. Without Türkiye, the EU cannot be a global player, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidansaid at a joint press conference with Oliver Varhelyi, European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, Report informs via Anadolu Agency.
According to Fidan, Türkiye calls on the EU to show the necessary will and act more boldly to develop relations between Ankara and Brussels.
Regarding the prospects for Türkiye's membership in the EU, he emphasized that they have not undergone any changes. The diplomat noted that Ankara has “very strong political will” to move in this direction.
