Türkiye may open its border with neighboring Armenia if relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan normalize, according to Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
According to Report, Fidan told the Sabah newspaper that a negotiation process is ongoing between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and Türkiye needs to prepare its scenario in case of a positive outcome.
"If the normalization process is completed, we will activate the positive scenario, which means we can open the border," Fidan said.
Special representatives from Türkiye and Armenia, Serdar Kilic and Ruben Rubinyan, met on July 30 at the border between the two countries. Following the meeting, they confirmed their intention to continue the process of normalizing bilateral relations without preconditions.
