Group of prisoners in Armenia's Armavir penitentiary on hunger strike

A group of prisoners of the Armavir penitentiary institution in Armenia are holding a hunger strike, Report informs referring to Armenian media.

One of them is in serious condition and is not receiving the necessary medical care.

The Criminal Executive Service of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia told the publication that two prisoners and two convicts are holding a hunger strike in the penitentiary institution.

One of the prisoners declared it on August 9, the other on September 6. The protest is related to the fact that they do not agree with the criminal prosecution against them.

In addition, one of the convicts declared a hunger strike due to the refusal to transfer him to a private medical center, and the other is demanding a softening of the punishment regime.
