The German Embassy in Turkiye, following the diplomatic missions of the US and France, has warned its citizens in the country about possible terror attacks on Turkish territory after a series of actions in Europe to desecrate the Koran, Report informs referring to TASS.
“According to representatives of the special services, the threat of terror attacks is growing in Turkiye, following the incident with the burning of the Koran at its embassy in Sweden,” the embassy tweeted. In this regard, German citizens staying in Turkiye are advised to exercise maximum attention and vigilance when visiting public places, to avoid crowds of people, as well as places where worship services are performed.
Similar warnings were issued by the US and French embassies.
“In the wake of recent Quran-burning incidents in Europe, the US government cautions its citizens of possible retaliatory attacks by terrorists against places of worship in Turkiye. Terrorists could attack with little or no warning, targeting places of worship or places Westerners frequent,” the US embassy said in a statement.
The French Embassy advised them to be as vigilant as possible in places visited by foreign tourists.
After a new campaign to burn the Koran at the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen, the Danish ambassador to Ankara was summoned to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, where he was strongly protested.
