Gerasimov's appointment indicates strife in Russian Armed Forces, says Oleksiy Danilov

"The appointment of Valery Gerasimov, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, as the operational commander to continue the war of aggression in Ukraine indicates the strife in the army," Oleksiy Danilov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, said, Report informs, citing RBC Ukraine.

According to him, Russia is making a certain staff change: "The current processes indicate an internal conflict that may turn into a confrontation between the main leaders. Gerasimov is the Chief of the General Staff. This shows that Russia is paying more attention to the war."

Danilov said the next 2-3 months will be decisive: "Now the situation in Russia is quite tense. Internal conflicts may increase in the future. If Putin surrenders, the struggle for power may begin."
