Georgian speaker: Opposition is preparing to repeat scenario of 2020 elections

The Georgian opposition is preparing for revolutionary actions immediately after the announcement of the results of the parliamentary elections to be held on October 26, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili told a briefing, Report informs, citing local press.

"Signs of the opposition's preparation for revolutionary actions immediately after the elections are already showing today. Part of this plan is to declare the elections illegitimate and form a temporary government until new parliamentary elections are held," Papuashvili noted.

According to the speaker, the opposition is preparing to repeat the scenario of the 2020 parliamentary elections, when they declared the elections invalid due to vote counting fraud by non-governmental organizations, but the ruling Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia party managed to prove this dirty manipulation.

"We will not allow this scenario to be repeated," Papuashvili emphasized.
