Georgian president to visit US

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili will leave for the United States in the coming days. She will participate in the 67th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, Report informs via Georgian media.

The Commission has existed for more than 70 years and consists of 45 UN member states, elected for four years.

It was established a year after the creation of the UN. Each year, representatives of Member States meet at UN Headquarters in New York to assess progress toward gender equality, identify problem areas, set global standards, and formulate specific strategies for the advancement of women around the world.
