Georgian president asks Zelensky to send Ukrainian envoy to Tbilisi

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has asked her Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky to return the country's ambassador to Tbilisi.

Report says she made the appeal when addressing the country's parliament.

The president said that the ambassador's return to Georgia could comprehensively and further strengthen relations between the two peoples in difficult times.

Zurabishvili noted that any disagreement between Georgia and Ukraine is only in Russia's favor.

Touching upon the issue of the pardon of former President Mikheil Saakashvili, the president said that she had already expressed her position on this issue.
