As the standard of living in Georgia is low, the high level of migration will continue, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze said, Report informs.
"We have negative indicators. Our main goal is economic development. There are two reasons for migration - firstly, the great economic decline, and secondly, the open borders. This gives citizens the opportunity to easily leave Georgia for EU countries," Kobakhidze emphasized.
According to the Statistical Committee of Georgia, 245,064 people migrated from Georgia in 2023, which is 95.6% more than in 2022.
