Georgian PM hails ties with Azerbaijan as 'excellent'

"Successful neighborhood policy must become one of the main directions in our foreign policy," Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at a presentation of the ten-year action plan of the country's Foreign Ministry.

Report informs that, according to Garibashvili, Georgia enjoys excellent relations with the three neighboring countries - Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey.

The prime minister also touched upon the humanitarian agreement reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia through Georgia's successful mediation.

"As a result of our successful policy, an agreement was reached between our Azerbaijani and Armenian brothers. It is a successful precedent, and it was created by the three neighboring states," he said.

Garibashvili noted that Georgia must become one of the main initiators of peace and stability in the region.

"It can form a sound basis for future development. The platform that we proposed to our friendly and neighboring states must be developed, and we must continue to be active in this direction," the Georgian PM said.
