Georgian FM denies talks with Ukraine on Saakashvili's extradition

No talks on the extradition of Mikheil Saakashvili to Ukraine has been held and is underway, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said, according to the local bureau of Report.

The Foreign Ministry did not confirm the information that the issue was being discussed with Ukraine through diplomatic channels.

Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Kovalchuk, who visited the former Georgian president today, said that preparations were underway for the politician's extradition to Ukraine.

Saakashvili was detained in Tbilisi on October 1. He is being held in Prison No. 12 in Rustavi and has been on a hunger strike for 29 days.
