Georgia mobilizes additional resources to counter pandemic

Under the Georgian prime minister's instruction, the Ministry of Health has developed a plan to provide additional beds, medicines, oxygen, and tests to fight the coronavirus, said the head of the operational staff of the Interagency Coordination Council, Giorgi Gibradze.

The local Bureau of Report quotes Gibradze as saying that the country will be ready for the worst-case scenario: "The situation is under control, and the state has full control over the process."

Georgian Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabuniya added that 6,000 beds for coronavirus patients would be added by May 10. She said there are 14 000 active patients in the country.
