Georgian doctor, medical oncology and genetics expert Aleksandre Tavartkiladze has developed a drug against coronavirus.
According to the local bureau of Report, the drug, called Soulageur, is already used in Georgia for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
Although the drug, which is a biologically active food supplement, has been included in the treatment guidelines in Georgia since November last year, it is not yet sold in pharmacies.
Soulageur is prescribed to patients over 18 years of age with less than 90% saturation. The drug is prescribed no later than 7 days after the first symptoms of coronavirus.
The use of the drug in the treatment of patients with coronavirus is reported to have positive results.
Clinical trials of the drug are underway.
