Georgia: Coronavirus cases reach 496

Ten more people have been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus in Georgia, taking the total number to 496 as of April 27.

A total of 149 have recovered from the illness while six others died, Report informs citing the official website of the Georgian government.

The country has placed up 4,833 people under quarantine, 571 under stationary control.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to 210 countries and territories since then.

To date, COVID-19 cases have reached 2,995,757 globally, resulting in 881,644 recoveries and 207,022 deaths.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
