Georgia and Azerbaijan are planning to implement joint sports projects, Viktor Sanikidze, Chairman of the Sports Committee of the Georgian Parliament, said following a meeting with a delegation from Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis.
According to Report, Sanikidze emphasized that the projects aim to promote joint participation of athletes, exchange of experience, and the strengthening of ties between the two countries in the field of sports:
"Negotiations are currently underway on specific areas of cooperation, and it is expected that joint projects will be launched in the near future. This initiative shows that sports hold a special place in Azerbaijan–Georgia relations."
The committee chairman also expressed special gratitude to Azerbaijan for supporting Georgia's territorial integrity.
