Lео Nicolian, a French journalist of Armenian descent, has returned to France after staging a 41-day hunger strike at Yerevan's Zvartnots International Airport. The journalist, who was denied entry to Armenia, decided to protest by remaining in the airport's neutral zone.
Report informs via Sputnik Armenia that in a live broadcast on social media, Nicolian stated, "I need to recover, improve my health, and eat to continue the fight."
He revealed that he had lost 19 kg during the course of his hunger strike.
Despite the setback, Nicolian remains determined to continue his fight for Armenia. He plans to address the National Assembly of France on Tuesday to raise awareness about the current situation in Armenia.
The journalist's protest began when he was informed at passport control that his entry to Armenia was prohibited. In response, he chose to stay at the airport and commence a hunger strike to draw attention to his plight and the issues facing Armenia.
