Former Sec.-Gen.: Armenia's suspension of CSTO membership is colossal mistake

Armenia's suspension of membership in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is a huge mistake, as Yerevan has always received substantial assistance from Moscow and the organization's other members, said Nikolay Bordyuzha, who served as CSTO Secretary General from 2003 to 2016, Report informs via TASS.

"It is Armenia's sovereign right to participate in the CSTO or withdraw from it. However, I believe this is a colossal mistake, based primarily on completely unreliable data... And when Armenia's top political leadership says they haven't received any help from Russia and the CSTO, this is absolutely untrue," Bordyuzha believes.

In February 2024, Armenia suspended its participation in the CSTO. According to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the collective security treaty was not fulfilled in relation to Armenia.
