The first diplomat of the new Afghan government has been accredited to Russia, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, Report informs citing Interfax.

“Last month, the first Afghan diplomat sent by the new authorities arrived in Moscow and received accreditation in our ministry,” he said March 31 at a meeting of the Third Meeting of Foreign Ministers in the Format of Afghanistan’s Neighboring Countries in Tunxi, China.

The minister said that despite the “lack of managerial experience, financial and economic restrictions, political and diplomatic pressure from the US and its allies, the new administration of Afghanistan, in general, manages to keep the state afloat.”

At the same time, Lavrov noted that “the main obstacle to the recognition of the government in Kabul remains its lack of representativeness.” He stressed that not only the various ethnic groups of the country, national and religious minorities, but also political forces should represent new authorities.
