The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia has presented the final results of the snap parliamentary elections held on June 20, Report informs via foreign media.
According to the final results, the acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's party received 53.91% of the votes, said Tigran Mukuchyan, the head of the Electoral Commission.
As many as 2,595,512 people were eligible to vote at the elections. However, only 1,281,997, or 49.39% of them, took part in the voting.
According to Tigran Mukuchyan, 688,761 people or 53.91% voted for the Civil Contract Party, 269,481 or 21.9% voted for the Armenia Alliance of the ex-President Robert Kocharian, and 66,650, or 5.22% voted for the I Have Honor Alliance of the former President Serzh Sargsyan.
Although the I Have Honor Alliance did not get the required 7% of the votes, it will be represented in the new parliament. According to the Armenian legislation, there must be at least three political forces in the country's legislative body.
