Female singer in Iran performs without hijab

Iranian singer Parastu Ahmadi performed at Caravanserais without the mandatory hijab on December 11, Report informs via VOA News.

The event was broadcast live on YouTube and quickly became one of the most viewed events on Iranian social media.

Parastu Ahmadi explained the performance on the YouTube channel, stating, "I, Parastu, am a girl who wants to sing for the people I love. This is a right that I could not give up; singing for the land that I love dearly."

She continued, "Here, in this part of our beloved Iran, in this place where our history and myths are intertwined, hear my voice in this imaginary concert and imagine this beautiful homeland."

Parastu Ahmadi also performed the song "From the Blood of the Youth of the Homeland" during the nationwide protests of 2022 in Iran. After the public welcomed this action, she was summoned to the security agencies in October 2023, and a case was filed against her.
