EU observers start first patrol along conditional Armenia-Azerbaijan border

The EU observers have set off on their first patrol along the conditional Armenia-Azerbaijan border since their arrival in Armenia. The work of the mission is designed for two months, Report informs citing the Armenian media.

“EU monitors in Armenia set off on their first patrol. For the next two months, the EU Monitoring Capacity will monitor the situation on the Armenian side of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border to build confidence and to contribute to the border commissions,” EU Security Defense tweeted.

On October 17, at a meeting in Luxembourg, the EU foreign ministers officially approved the dispatch of 40 observers to Armenia on the conditional border with Azerbaijan.
