Erdogan: Way to future of Türkiye lies through elimination of earthquake consequences

The path to the future of Türkiye lies through the elimination of the consequences of the February earthquakes, the eradication of the economic, social and psychological damage of the disaster, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at an event dedicated to the election process in the country.

Report informs via Anadolu that according to him, the government's goal is to build 319,000 housing units in a year (in the disaster zone), including 75,000 rural houses.

"The negative consequences of the disaster were felt by more than 14 million residents of Türkiye. We plan to actually rebuild cities from scratch. We are determined to work until 3.5 million residents of the disaster zone are gradually provided with safe housing," the Turkish leader assured.

He recalled that the death toll as a result of the February 6 earthquakes in southeastern Türkiye exceeded 47,000 people. Another 115,000 people were injured.
