Erdogan, UN chief discuss regional and global developments

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has held a phone call with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

Report informs, citing TRT Haber, that regional and global developments were discussed during the conversation.

Erdogan said Türkiye continued its efforts to ensure peace and stability in various regions, particularly Iran, Gaza and Somalia.

The Turkish leader stressed the importance of making maximum use of diplomatic opportunities to resolve the existing problems between the United States and Iran. He said the international community should fulfill its responsibilities to prevent this process from being disrupted.

Erdogan also emphasized the importance of ensuring that UN missions in Syria continue their activities effectively and said Türkiye would continue to provide support in this area.

The situation in Cyprus, as well as in Gaza and Lebanon, was also discussed during the phone call.
