Erdogan: Turkey may ratify Paris Climate Agreement in October

Turkey will consider the possibility of ratifying the Paris Climate Agreement in October, President of the Republic Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, speaking on Tuesday at the general political debate of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, Report informs.

"Next month, a bill on the approval of the Paris Agreement will be submitted to the parliament for consideration. It will include Ankara's declarative obligations in accordance with constructive steps in the environmental sphere," he stressed.

According to the Turkish leader, Turkey has never "remained indifferent to any problem, crisis or appeal."

"Our country is ready to take its due on climate change and environmental protection," he added, "The greatest burden in the fight against climate change must be borne by those who have harmed the environment most mercilessly and destroyed natural resources."
