Erdogan arrives in Egypt for first time in 12 years

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Egypt on an official visit, Report informs via Turkish media.

Erdogan was met at Cairo International Airport by Egyptian President Abdul Fattah el-Sisi and Turkish Ambassador Salih Mutlu Sen.

Erdogan is accompanied by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek, Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler, etc.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set to arrive in Cairo on Wednesday to meet his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, sealing a long-running rapprochement between the two men, Report informs.

Erdogan on Monday said the pair would discuss "every effort" to stop the "bloodshed" in the Gaza Strip, while Turkish state news agency Anadolu said the meetings would also cover economic, trade, tourism, energy and defense matters.

The visit will be the Turkish president's first trip to Egypt since 2012.
