Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke via video link with Turkish astronaut Alper Gezeravci, who arrived at the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the Axiom-3 (Ax-3) crew, Report informs referring to Anadolu Agency.
Erdogan wished Gezeravci success, noting that his achievement will be a new incentive for teenagers.
“Perhaps now dozens of young people will be attracted to this field. Türkiye has already become one of the space countries. This event marked the beginning of a new stage in our activities in space,” he noted.
The astronaut, in turn, informed the head of state about scientific experiments.
As part of the 14-day mission, Gezeravci is expected to conduct 13 scientific experiments developed by Turkish scientists and research institutes on board the orbital station.
