Erdogan, Macron discuss situation in Syria

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed regional and global agenda issues with French President Emmanuel Macron, the Turkish presidential administration said in a statement following a phone conversation between the leaders of the two countries.

"During the conversation, the parties discussed bilateral relations between Türkiye and France, as well as regional and global agenda issues. Erdogan emphasized the importance of protecting Syria's territorial integrity and sovereignty and expressed satisfaction with the reopening of the French embassy in this country," the message states.

According to the information, the Turkish leader also noted the importance of joint efforts by the international community in Syria's reconstruction, which would contribute to the swift return of Syrian refugees to their lands.
