Erdogan confirms Turkiye has new Tayfun ballistic missile

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed on Friday that his country has a new Tayfun ballistic missile, which was secretly tested on October 18, Report informs, citing TASS.

“Now we have Tayfun, and this is our message,” the Turkish president said at Istanbul University. The speech was broadcast on Erdogan's Twitter page.

According to Anadolu, Erdogan noted that defense industry is one of the technologically intensive and important economic sectors.

"The volume of exports of Turkish defense products during the years of the Justice and Development Party has grown from $250 million to $3 billion," he stated.

The Turkish leader noted that the number of defense projects in Turkiye has increased from 62 to more than 750 over 20 years, and the budget has risen from $5.5 billion to $75 billion.
