Envoys of Western countries to Armenia send protest note to ruling party

Representatives of international organizations, several ambassadors of Western countries have sent a note of protest to the ruling Civil Contract party of Armenia. They expressed their dissatisfaction after the falsification of the results of the elections to the Board of this party, Report informs referring to Zhoghovurd newspaper.

The distrust of representatives of democratic countries in the electoral processes began after falsifications in the ruling party, the newspaper notes. Elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan have not yet been scheduled, but the party is constantly saying that it will win.

Member of the Armenian Parliament, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Party Gevork Papoyan assured that he doesn’t have such information. Another deputy, MP Vahagn Aleksanyan stated that if the ruling party nominated a candidate, it means that there is confidence in his or her victory.

“But I don't remember that representatives of the authorities made such statements that they received a note of protest for it, Aleksanyan added.

The party is chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
