A dry cargo ship flying the flag of the Comoros broke at the anchorage near Russia’s Novorossiysk in a severe storm, there were 11 crew members on board, their fate is being investigated, Report informs referring to TASS.
“The incident happened 1-1.5 miles from the shore at the anchorage, where, due to a strong storm, the Seamark dry cargo ship broke. The ship is under the flag of the Comoros. The crew consists of 11 Russians. Their fate is being specified,” the agency’s source said.
He clarified that the cargo ship was carrying 3,500 tons of marble chips. Now the life rafts of the Marine Rescue Service are moving to the emergency area.
Rosmorrechflot added that the height of the waves in the Black Sea in the area of the crash reaches 3 meters.
According to the latest data, two life rafts are at the scene of the emergency, and a rescue ship has also arrived. The condition and number of rescued people is still unknown.
