Director of opposition TV channel detained in Yerevan

Armenian opposition TV channel “Yerkir Media” reported that its director Bagrat Yesayan was detained in his office in Yerevan, Report informs referring to Interfax.

According to the channel’s preliminary information, Yesayan was taken to the isolation ward of the National Security Service of Armenia.

The reasons for the detention were not named. The National Security Service of Armenia did not report the detention.

“Yerkir Media” TV channel belongs to the opposition Dashnaktsutyun party. Yesayan is a member of this party, in different years he served as an adviser to the President of Armenia, Deputy Minister of Education and Science.
