Deputy minister: EU doesn't give 3.3B euros allocated to Turkiye

Turkiye expects the European Union to fulfill its commitments under the joint plan to fight the migration crisis, especially to help Ankara with aid to refugees, Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkiye, Faruk Kaymakci, said in his speech at the international conference titled the “Future of Human Rights in the 21st Century”, Report informs via Anadolu.

He said that there are currently 4.2 million refugees in Turkiye, of which 3.5 million are Syrians: "We expect the international community to cooperate more actively with our country in migration issues. No country can accept so many refugees on its own. We call on the European Union to fulfill its obligations under the four refugee agreements, especially on financial assistance."

According to the deputy minister, the matter is about the allocation of 3.3 billion euros to Turkiye.

Kaymakçı emphasized that over 500,000 Syrian refugees have returned to their country from Turkiye, and this process will continue.
