Defense ministry: Armenia won’t appeal to court over weapons paid for not received from Russia

Armenia isn’t going to sue Russia for not receiving weapons that were paid for, Deputy Minister of Defense Hrachya Sargsyan said at a briefing, Report informs referring to Armenian media.

“There were no arms deliveries, but it won’t come to trial. I think the issue will be resolved in a partnership atmosphere,” he noted.

Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Armenia has not yet received the weapons it purchased from Russia, and ways to solve this problem are being discussed. He clarified that consultations are already underway on mechanisms for resolving the issue and there are many options.

As an opportunity, Pashinyan cited a reduction in Armenia’s debt to Russia in the amount paid for weapons. At the same time, he expressed the opinion that Russia itself needs weapons.
