Curfew introduced in Kazakhstan’s Baikonur until January 19

The Mayor’s Office of Baikonur has introduced a curfew until January 19, the city will be patrolled by people’s guards, the head of the city administration Konstantin Busygin said, Report informs citing Interfax.

The curfew is introduced from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., at this time it will not be possible to move around the city, except to and from work or to the pharmacy, and checkpoints will be closed at the entrances during these hours. City businesses will have to close at 10 p.m.

People’s guards will be created at the enterprises. At the request of the police, these vigilantes will help the police patrol.

The sale of alcohol in retail trade has been banned in Baikonur since January 7. Only cafes and restaurants will be able to sell alcohol.
