CSTO not obligated to support Armenia in Karabakh, says Russian president

The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) should not have supported Armenia in the Karabakh conflict, as there was no external aggression against Yerevan, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a press conference in Astana, Report informs.

Putin attributed Armenia's current stance towards the CSTO to internal political issues and the Karabakh conflict. However, he also mentioned that Armenia might return to full participation in the CSTO in the future.
