As of July 8 in the morning, 29,820 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Armenia. The number of infected in one day has grown by 349, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.
According to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 17,427 people have recovered, while currently 11,708 are getting treatment.
The total death toll reached 521, as 18 other fell victim to the virus.
Earlier at a briefing of the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev stressed that the Armenian leadership is covering up the real COVID-19-related figures.
"Today, Armenia is in a dire situation because of the negligent policy pursued by the country's leadership. They are hiding the coronavirus figures from their citizens," he said.
"While begging for help, they oppose the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev to convene a special session of the UN General Assembly. In this way, Armenia is revealing its true nature," Hajiyev stressed.
