Cotton sowing starts in north of Turkmenistan

On March 31, the farmers of the Dashoguz province of Turkmenistan began sowing cotton, where, due to climatic conditions, sowing starts a little later than in other regions of the country, Report informs.

This year there are plans to collect 275,000 tons of cotton in the country.

Farmers of the province give preference to such medium staple cotton varieties as Dashoguz-120, Dashoguz-114, Gubadag-3, S-4727, Jeyhun, 149F, etc. Before the start of the campaign, a meeting was held in the province’s mayor office, in which heads and leading specialists, experienced agronomists, machine operators, tenants-cotton growers took part.

The participants discussed organizational issues related to the sowing campaign at the optimal time, the high-quality implementation of the relevant agrotechnical measures, the clear and well-coordinated work of all the services involved in the current campaign.
