The exact number of killed Mariupol residents is unknown. Now the houses in the area are being demolished, and the dead are not being searched, Mariupol Mayor's Adviser Petro Andryushchenko said on Telegram, Report informs.
According to the city official, the unidentified bodies, along with construction waste, are likely taken to the landfill Levoberezhny:
"Because their homes were completely destroyed, people in the area continue to live in basements. Despite the claims of the occupying authorities that the epidemiological situation in the city is favorable, there are garbage dumps on the streets of Mariupol."
After an 81-day siege on May 20, Mariupol's resistance ended. According to the mayor's office, at least 10,000 civilians were killed in the attack by Russian forces.
