CIS military exercises kick off in Kazakhstan

The “Combat Commonwealth-2023” exercises with the joint air defense forces of the CIS countries have begun in the Karaganda region of Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstani Defense Ministry said, Report informs.

The exercises have already involved air defense forces, as well as combat crews of anti-aircraft missile systems.

The military contingent of Kyrgyzstan has also joined the exercises. Air defense crews fire from the Pechora-2BM missile system. It was designed to counter short- and medium-range attacks as well as UAVs.

The main training period will take place on September 14-15. It will be monitored by representatives of the Ministries of Defense and troops of Russia, Armenia, and Uzbekistan.
