"Çiftlikbank" founder faces up 2,600 years in prison

The founder of "Çiftlikbank" in Turkey, Mehmet Aydin, nicknamed Tosuncuk, was demanded to be sentenced to 2,600 years in prison, Report mentions, referring to CNN Turk.

The first indictment stated that he had been sentenced to 75,000 years in prison and the second to another 11,140 years. Thus, his punishment reached 89,140 years.

Tosuncuk said in court: "Return my confiscated property in Cyprus (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) and Turkey and let me pay all my debts to the victims."

The 83-page indictment prepared by the Anadolu Prosecutor General's Office demanded that Mehmet Aydin and 130 suspects be sentenced to 2,600 years in prison on charges of "organized fraud."

Mehmet Aydin, nicknamed Tosuncuk, fled to Uruguay in March 2018, embezzling TRY 1,139,000,000 (AZN223 million at the current exchange rate) from 132,222 customers through an online game called "Çiftlikbank", which he founded in August 2016. He was wanted by Turkish security forces and Interpol with a red notice. He was detained in July this year and brought to the country.
