Tbilisi. 19 February. REPORT.AZ/ Starting from the current academic year Georgian schools will teach Chinese, Report's local bureau informs citing the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia reported.
Depending on the demand, Chinese will be taught as a second foreign language starting from the fifth grade.
The memorandum on promotion of the Chinese language in Georgian schools was signed recently by Georgian Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Mikheil Batiashvili and Chinese Ambassador Ji Yanchi.
