Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wins the presidential elections in Kazakhstan with 70.76% of the vote, Report informs citing the preliminary data from the CEC of the republic. The turnout at the closure (20:00) of most polling stations on June 9 was 77%.
Notably, the head of the country for almost 30 years, Nursultan Nazarbayev resigned on March 20. Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev became an interim head of state, who had previously been the speaker of the upper house of parliament. Tokayev appointed early election three weeks after taking office.
