We will continue to do our best for a strong Türkiye, Deputy candidate from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) led by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Behiye Eker, told Report.
According to her, the preparation period for the presidential and parliamentary elections to be held on May 14 is short: “We have completed our preparations as AK Party in about 34 days. We conducted a strong elections campaign with both candidates for deputy and our city organizations. AK Party goes to every new election stronger than the previous one. The reasons for this are the right and timely decisions and the work done by city organizations. I hope we will win on May 14.”
Saying that they always feel Azerbaijan's support, the politician stressed that she would like to visit Azerbaijan after May 14: “Turkish citizens living there have already voted. We think that they voted for the AK Party. I have been in the AK Party for 19 years. I watched 15 elections and 1 referendum. We have won 15 elections, this is the 16th election. I hope that we will win. These successful results are an indication that we are a party that serves the people.”
Eker said that the AK Party has very big projects for the future and reminded that today Türkiye has achieved great success in the defense industry: “Local and nationalization of the arms industry has always been one of our main goals. One of the main projects that attract my attention at the moment is the progress in pharmaceutical production and the announcement of new steps in this field. This is a value to be gained for our country. There are also steps taken in the energy field. I think that the reforms and new steps to be taken in these areas will play an important role in improving the welfare of our citizens. We will continue to do our best for a strong Türkiye.”
