Brotherhood with Azerbaijan 'wonderful opportunity to contribute to UNESCO's work,' Turkish MFA says

Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Yavuz Salim Kiram has congratulated Azerbaijan on being elected to the UNESCO Executive Board.

"We wholeheartedly congratulate Azerbaijan that was elected a member of the UNESCO Executive Board for 2021-2025 along with our country. The Turkish-Azerbaijani brotherhood will be a wonderful opportunity to contribute to UNESCO's global work in education, science, and culture," the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister said.

The elections to the Executive Board for 2021-2025 took place as part of the current 41st session of the UNESCO General Conference. Azerbaijan was nominated for one of the three vacancies from the Eastern-European group at the elections.

Azerbaijan garnered 143 votes in the highly competitive elections.
