British diplomat loses accreditation, ordered to leave Russia

Wilkes Prior, the Second Secretary of the Political Section at the British Embassy in Russia, has been stripped of his accreditation for providing false information upon entering the Russian Federation.

Report informs citing Russia media that he has been given a two-week deadline to leave the country.

The Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia stated that signs of espionage activities were uncovered in Prior's work.

In a related development, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova announced that the British Ambassador to Moscow, Nigel Casey, has been summoned to the ministry.
