BRICS foreign ministers to discuss global governance and conflict resolution

The foreign ministers of the BRICS member countries are set to convene in Nizhny Novgorod on June 10-11 to discuss pressing matters of international relations, global governance, and conflict resolution on multilateral platforms, according to Report.

Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, announced the upcoming event during a briefing organized on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). She emphasized that the foreign ministers will explore ways to improve the global governance system, with a focus on elevating the influence of developing nations.

Zakharova noted that the foreign ministers will also outline the next steps in developing the strategic partnership among the BRICS nations. Particular attention will be given to the preparations for the upcoming 16th BRICS Summit, set to take place in Kazan later this year.

Alongside the main discussions, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is expected to engage in a series of bilateral meetings.
