Binali Yildirim calls on Armenia

"During the 30-year occupation of Karabakh, more than one million of our Azerbaijani brothers were forced to leave their homeland. Due to the economic problems that arose during this period, the Armenian people also faced many difficulties. The OSCE Minsk Group, the United Nations, have been talking for thirty years and have not been able to achieve any results. Finally, with the 44-day Patriotic War of Azerbaijan, this problem was solved," Former Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkish States (OAS), said in his speech at the XXV Eurasian Economic Summit in Istanbul.

"Our task as the peoples of the region is to contribute to the development of this region, to make it a place of peace and tranquility, Binali Yildirim said. "There are steps taken now and these steps are not considered unsuccessful. The infrastructure in Karabakh, which has been neglected for many years, is being rebuilt by the Azerbaijani state, and roads and communication lines are being laid. As Turkiye, our attitude to all this is obvious."

Binali Yildirim also called on the Armenian side: "After that, Armenia must not allow foreign forces to interfere in its internal affairs and must contribute to the peace and stability of its people, state, and region. In return for every effort taken by Armenia in this direction, we will take appropriate positive steps."
